Daniel Otaigbe Hospitality Operations & Facilities Support

Madeira, Portugal

Operational and facilities support for independent accommodation.

I work alongside owners and managers on operational readiness, facilities coordination, practical operating systems and clearer reporting. Independent, practical and focused on accommodation properties in Madeira.

Operational and facilities support for accommodation owners and managers across Funchal and surrounding areas.

01  /  The situation

Most operational problems are not mysteries. They are things nobody has time to close out.

A supplier says the work is done. Nobody checks. A maintenance issue gets mentioned in a message and then disappears. The owner is in another country and hears about a problem when a guest complains about it.

These situations do not always require a large consultancy engagement. They often require structured follow-through, clear documentation and someone responsible for tracking actions to completion.

02  /  What I do

Four ways I work with a property.

Most engagements start with a review and move along this list as far as the property needs. You are not expected to take all four.

01

Hospitality Readiness Review

A structured review of the operational and facilities arrangements we agree to cover. You receive written observations, a maintenance and action register, a documentation gap review and a prioritised 30-day plan.

From €500 Subject to property size, complexity, agreed scope and applicable taxes
02

Operations Systems and Documentation

Practical operating procedures, trackers, registers, checklists and handover templates, built for how your property actually runs rather than a generic template pack.

Priced according to property size, scope and required involvement
03

Ongoing Owner and Management Support

Scheduled property checks, supplier follow-up, maintenance action tracking, photographic reporting and management summaries. Useful when the owner is not at the property day to day.

Scoped individually, normally with a defined minimum engagement, number of visits and working hours
04

Defined Project Support

Extra capacity for a specific piece of work with a start and an end. Opening or reopening preparation, refurbishment coordination support, supplier mobilisation, corrective action tracking or operating document preparation.

Scoped and quoted per project

03  /  How the work runs

A short, predictable sequence.

01

Conversation

A short call to understand the property, the pressure points and whether I am the right fit. No charge.

02

Agreed scope

I write down exactly what is covered, what is not, what it costs and when it happens. Nothing starts before you have that in writing.

03

On site

An agreed visit to the property. I look at the operational and facilities arrangements we scoped, and record what I find as I go.

04

Report and follow-through

A concise management report with a prioritised action plan. Where we have agreed ongoing support, I track those actions until they are closed.

04  /  Who I work with

Independent properties and small hospitality groups.

  • Independent hotels
  • Aparthotels
  • Guesthouses
  • Rural tourism properties
  • Small hospitality groups
  • Multi-unit accommodation operators
  • Owners managing a property from another country
  • Properties preparing to open or reopen
  • Managers who need temporary extra capacity on a defined project

This service is most useful where an owner or management team needs additional independent capacity for a defined operational or facilities requirement.

05  /  Background

Where this comes from.

My background is facilities and operational coordination: maintenance supervision, property and supplier coordination, corrective action follow-up, structured reporting and administrative coordination. The recurring theme is the same in every setting. Somebody has to check the work was actually done, record it properly, and chase what is outstanding.

I have not owned or run a hotel, and I do not present myself as a hotel operator. What I offer is narrower and more useful than that: trained, independent capacity for the operational and facilities side of running accommodation.

Tell me about the property.

Send a short description of the property and what is not working. I read every enquiry myself and reply within two to three working days.
